Grand Theft Auto VI is set in the state of Leonida — a modern-day take on Florida, centered on a reborn Vice City. Here's what Rockstar has officially shown of the world, region by region.
Known regions of Leonida
Ambrosia
An industrial town in the heart of the state, built around the Allied Crystal sugar refinery, where old-school American industry and old-school values still reign - whatever the cost. Where legitimate work runs out, a notorious biker gang fills in the gaps.
Grassrivers
Leonida's answer to the Everglades: slow rivers, swamps, marshland, and isolated rural communities where alligators roam freely. Untamed and easy to get lost in - and the wildlife is not necessarily the biggest threat lurking out there.
Leonida
The state where GTA VI takes place - Rockstar's fictional spin on Florida. Leonida stretches from the neon streets of Vice City through swamps, faded coastal towns, and industrial heartland to wilderness on its northern border, with each region revealed so far carrying its own distinct character and criminal economy.
Leonida Keys
A laid-back tropical archipelago at the southern tip of the state, Rockstar's take on the Florida Keys. The dress code is casual and the bars are loaded - but the islands sit on the doorstep of some of the most beautiful and dangerous waters in America. This is where Jason lives and works.
Mount Kalaga National Park
A national landmark on Leonida's northern border and the state's wild fringe - prime hunting, fishing, and off-road trails, with room to breathe far from the Vice City sprawl. The rugged backcountry also suits residents who prefer to live off the grid and unbothered.
Port Gellhorn
A gritty coastal city on Leonida's northwest edge that once lived off tourism and trade. The boom is long gone - what's left is cheap motels, shuttered attractions, and a rough new economy of liquor stores, truck stops, and underground hustles.
Vice City
Leonida's biggest city and the heart of the game, now in a modern-day setting. Rockstar pitches it as the glamour, hustle, and greed of America captured in a single city, with districts including Ocean Beach and Little Cuba alongside a working port.
What's confirmed — and what isn't
ConfirmedRockstar has confirmed the setting (Leonida and Vice City) and revealed several locations, but the full world map has not been officially released. Map size and layout remain unconfirmed — we don't repeat the numbers going around until Rockstar shows them.
