GTA 6 launches first on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a PC version expected later. Consoles do not permit traditional mods, so launch-window earning will run only through Rockstar-sanctioned channels.
ConfirmedTake-Two's CEO has explained the console-first release strategy. Sony's and Microsoft's platform sandboxes block classic PC-style modding, so FiveM-style roleplay servers and deep mods are a PC-era phenomenon that arrives after the later PC release — not at console launch.

GTA 6 Trailer 3 is now widely expected between late July and mid-August 2026.
RumorJune 2026 passed without a third trailer even though pre-orders opened on June 25. Press coverage now projects a late-July-to-mid-August window and a story-heavy reveal focused on Lucia and Jason. Rockstar has confirmed no date, so treat the timing as speculation until it does.

The map of Leonida is at least twice the size of GTA V's map, according to fan projections. Rockstar has not released an official map or any size figures.
RumorThe estimate comes from community mapping projects that reconstruct the map from visual clues in the two official trailers and promotional screenshots, not from Rockstar. Similar fan efforts before GTA V's launch turned out fairly accurate, but until an official map is published these numbers remain educated guesswork.

GTA VI will feature an in-game stock market and cryptocurrency payments, according to 2021 leaker claims. Nothing about economy systems has been confirmed.
RumorThe rumor traces back to a June 2021 claim by leaker Tom Henderson that the stock market would return alongside an in-game crypto broker, with some missions paying out in a fictional cryptocurrency. In early 2026 Henderson himself said he believes the crypto plan was scrapped years ago. Rockstar has confirmed nothing about GTA VI's economy systems - articles presenting a dynamic economy or stock market as confirmed have no official source behind them.

Business & price
-
GTA 6 costs $79.99 (Standard) and $99.99 (Ultimate) on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Both editions include the Vintage Vice City Pack pre-order bonus.
ConfirmedRockstar confirmed pricing when pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026: the Standard edition is $79.99 and the Ultimate edition is $99.99. There are two editions only — the 'Deluxe' and '$129.99 Collector's' tiers circulated earlier were speculation and do not exist. Both editions carry the Vintage Vice City Pack as a pre-order bonus. Physical copies ship a download code, not a disc. A PC version has no price yet because it is not announced.

Rockstar is hiring for a dedicated Creator Platform team — including Lead Creator Platform, Product Manager and Full Stack (JavaScript) roles, some tied to PS5 and Xbox — pointing to an official user-generated-content platform.
ConfirmedThe job listings describe a multiplayer community platform and UGC tooling. They do not name GTA 6 explicitly, so the link to GTA 6 is inference rather than confirmation, but the staffing direction toward a first-party creator platform is clear.

FiveM (Cfx.re) is the only Rockstar-sanctioned platform for GTA multiplayer mods and roleplay servers; competing frameworks such as alt:V and RAGE:MP have been shut down or pushed out.
ConfirmedAfter acquiring Cfx.re, Rockstar consolidated the GTA multiplayer modding ecosystem under FiveM and enforced its platform policy against unofficial alternatives, which monetize through tools like Tebex.

Rockstar has moved toward officially monetizing user-generated content: in August 2023 it acquired Cfx.re — the team behind the FiveM and RedM multiplayer mods — and has since operated a paid CFX Marketplace where creators sell mods and assets.
ConfirmedThis reverses Rockstar's earlier stance, when a 2017 Take-Two cease & desist shut down the OpenIV mod toolkit. The acquisition and the official marketplace are documented by multiple outlets, though the reported purchase price (often cited as ~$20M) is unverified.

Arion Kurtaj, the hacker behind the 2022 GTA 6 leak, is reportedly out of the secure hospital and faces a criminal retrial in November 2026, the month GTA 6 launches.
RumorBBC cyber correspondent Joe Tidy reports that doctors now deem Kurtaj fit to stand trial: released from the secure hospital where a court had held him indefinitely since December 2023, he is reportedly in prison awaiting a conventional criminal trial in November 2026. Kurtaj, then 18 and a member of the Lapsus$ group, broke into Rockstar in September 2022 and posted 90 in-development GTA 6 clips; Rockstar told the court the breach cost it $5 million. The report comes from a single named journalist, with no published court statement and no comment from Rockstar, so it stays a rumor until official confirmation.

GTA 6 Online is rumored to pay creators a share of revenue for user-generated content — following the Fortnite/Roblox model — and may let creators use their own IP or brand sponsorships.
RumorReported by VideoGamer citing industry insiders, and echoed by investment firm Konvoy, which predicts GTA 6 Online will adopt a creator economy like Fortnite's Creator Economy 2.0 (which pays creators roughly 40% via engagement payouts). No revenue-share terms have been confirmed by Rockstar.
