GTA 6 on PC: is it coming, and when?
GTA 6 launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only — a PC version has not been announced. Here's what's confirmed, and when a PC port is realistic based on Rockstar's history.
What's confirmed
GTA 6 releases on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has not announced a PC version, a PC release date, or PC system requirements — there is nothing official to pre-order or wishlist on PC yet. Any 'GTA 6 PC release date' circulating now is speculation.

When to expect the PC version
Rockstar ships console-first, PC later. GTA 5 reached PC about 19 months after consoles (September 2013 → April 2015), and Red Dead Redemption 2 about 12 months later (October 2018 → November 2019). If GTA 6 follows the same pattern, a PC port would arrive roughly 12–19 months after the November 2026 launch — late 2027 into 2028. That is our estimate from Rockstar's track record, not an announcement.

Note how the gap grew. Rockstar's smaller games followed onto PC within weeks, but the two huge open worlds — the ones GTA 6 actually resembles — took a year or more. Nothing here is a promise about GTA 6 on PC.
How you'll find out before Rockstar announces it
A PC port leaves a paper trail weeks before the newswire post. These are the four places it has shown up every time, and all of them are public — you don't need an insider to watch them.
-
A store database entry. Steam and the Epic Games Store list an app long before its page goes live; SteamDB surfaces those entries, and that is how GTA 5's and Red Dead 2's PC versions were spotted early.
-
A ratings board filing. The ESRB, PEGI and Australia's Classification Board rate each platform separately, so a PC rating appearing for a console-only game is a hard signal, not a rumour.
-
Job listings. Rockstar hiring graphics or engine programmers for PC work on the RAGE engine tends to precede a port by a long stretch, though it dates the work rather than the release.
-
Take-Two's earnings calls. The publisher talks about release windows and platform plans every quarter, and a PC version big enough to move revenue guidance gets mentioned there before it gets a trailer.
Frequently asked questions
Is GTA 6 confirmed for PC?
No. Rockstar has announced GTA 6 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. There is no PC version, no date, no requirements and nothing to pre-order or wishlist on PC.
When is GTA 6 likely to hit PC?
Our estimate says roughly 12 to 19 months after consoles — late 2027 into 2028. GTA 5 took about 19 months to reach PC and Red Dead Redemption 2 about 12; that's a pattern, not a promise.
Will GTA 6 be on Steam?
Unannounced, but the precedent is good: GTA 5 launched on Steam on day one of its PC release, and Red Dead Redemption 2 reached Steam about a month after its PC debut. A Steam release at or shortly after the PC launch would fit Rockstar's pattern.
Should I wait for the PC version or get a console?
If history repeats, waiting means a year or more. A PS5 or Series X gets you playing on November 19, 2026; holding out for PC buys better hardware and mods later, at the price of a long wait and dodging spoilers the whole time.
