Bad Bunny and Lana Del Rey host GTA 6 radio stations

The hosts of the first six Grand Theft Auto VI radio stations are real music stars. Rockstar listed them on 8 October only by their on-air names, and Rolling Stone and Pitchfork named the people behind them the same day, with quotes from two of the artists.

Bad Bunny and fellow Puerto Rican singer RaiNao play El Martillo and La Gata on Cocoteo FM, the modern Latin station. On Back Country Radio, the country station, MW and Delta Dawne are Morgan Wallen and Lana Del Rey. Her husband Jeremy Dufrene voices Mud Dog Mike, the station's swamp weatherman who reports from an airboat. In real life, Dufrene is an airboat captain.

The other four pairs are just as recognisable. Burna Boy (Nigerian Afrobeats star) and DJ Palms Trax run AfroBank FM. Robyn (Swedish pop singer) hosts Flash FM with model Alex Consani. Kerry King and Tom Araya, founders of the metal band Slayer, are DJ Kerry and DJ Tom on The Chamber 106.6. Trick Daddy and Trina, Miami rap veterans, host Dirty South Classics.

Two of the hosts spoke about the role. Del Rey told Rolling Stone that relatives who first came to Los Angeles already knew the roads from playing GTA, and called the part "a privilege". RaiNao told Pitchfork that Cocoteo FM gets her people's slang, music and traditions right.

Celebrity DJs are a series tradition: Iggy Pop hosted a station in GTA IV and Kenny Loggins one in GTA V. This time all six announced stations have one. Rockstar says more stations are coming, so the list of hosts is not final either. GTA VI comes out on 19 November.
