Rockstar named the first six radio stations of Grand Theft Auto VI on 8 October in a Newswire post and opened a Music section on the game's official site. Each station gets a two-minute preview with its hosts on air and three songs.

The six cover a wide spread. Cocoteo FM plays modern Latin music from bachata to reggaeton, with Bad Bunny and Romeo Santos in its preview. Back Country Radio is renegade country with Loretta Lynn and Waylon Jennings. AfroBank FM mixes African classics with amapiano, The Chamber 106.6 plays metal from Black Sabbath to Slayer, and Dirty South Classics is Southern rap with David Banner and DJ Khaled. Flash FM, the pop station from GTA: Vice City, is back with Charli xcx and MGMT.

Every station has a pair of hosts, and Rockstar has already given them characters. On Back Country Radio, MW and Delta Dawne hand over to Mud Dog Mike, a swamp weatherman who reports from his airboat in the Grassrivers and is Delta's not-so-secret lover.

The biggest change happens outside the car. For the first time in the series, Jason and Lucia can listen on foot through headphones and earbuds connected to their phones. GTA VI also adds on-demand podcasts, another first, which play in vehicles and on foot.

These six are not the full list. Rockstar says the stations run from classic rock to talk radio and calls it the biggest radio selection in the series. Details of the dynamic score and more singles from GTA VI: The Album, the 34-track record out on 19 November with the game, are still to come.
