Rockstar released the Grand Theft Auto VI Launch Trailer on 15 October without any warning. The video went up on the Rockstar Games YouTube channel at 13:00 UTC, exactly five weeks before the game comes out on 19 November. It runs 90 seconds, and Rockstar says it was captured entirely in-game on a PlayStation 5.

The biggest piece of news is in the soundtrack. Rockstar names the composers of the game's original score for the first time: the French electronic duo Justice. The trailer is cut to their new single "Flower in a Hurricane", featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. The track is part of Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, the official soundtrack announced in September, which is already open for pre-save on streaming services and for pre-orders on vinyl and CD.

The story side belongs to Jason. The trailer opens in the Keys, at a boat yard with a big "Brian's Marina" sign, where Jason is polishing a boat hull. Over those shots he explains how he got here: "I got in some trouble in the Army. Didn't leave on the best of terms. They don't give loans or anything to people like me." It is the first time he tells his own backstory on screen. Then his phone rings, and an automated voice says: "This is a free call from Lucia Caminos." That is how a prison phone system announces a call, so the trailer links straight back to the first one, where Lucia starts out in the Leonida Penitentiary.

The rest is a fast montage of shots we have not seen before. Two figures walk into a bank vault with banknotes flying around them. A helicopter swings a heavy round object through the glass wall of a tower at night. A biplane trailing pink smoke flies over a crowded beach. A pickup drives under the landing gear of an airliner on a runway, and armed men wade through a mangrove swamp at sunset. One shower scene shows a monitoring tag with a red light on an ankle; coverage of the trailer reads it as Lucia's. Jason appears in a U.S. Army T-shirt, aims a scoped rifle over the night skyline, and in the final shot jumps hand in hand with Lucia from a great height into a pool.

The last exchange sums up the tone. "Are we gonna be okay?" "We've stuck together through everything. Just gotta get through it." The end card says "November 19, 2026. Pre-order now" and shows the ESRB Mature 17+ rating. This cut is co-branded with PlayStation: it opens with a "Plays best on PS5" card and ends with the "Play Has No Limits" slogan.

There is a lot this trailer does not do. It shows no gameplay interface and no new names, and the description reuses the Trailer 2 synopsis word for word. RockstarINTEL expects it to be the last trailer before launch. For players it confirms that the date is holding and that the music is in the hands of one of the best-known acts in electronic music. Our full shot-by-shot breakdown with 20 frames is on the Launch Trailer page.
