The rumor traces back to a June 2021 claim by leaker Tom Henderson that the stock market would return alongside an in-game crypto broker, with some missions paying out in a fictional cryptocurrency. In early 2026 Henderson himself said he believes the crypto plan was scrapped years ago. Rockstar has confirmed nothing about GTA VI's economy systems - articles presenting a dynamic economy or stock market as confirmed have no official source behind them.
