Twitch's chief executive expects a GTA 6 multiplayer mode in 2027. Rockstar has announced neither the mode nor a date.

Dan Clancy, chief executive of Twitch, told Bloomberg on 17 September 2026 that his platform expects "this big bump with GTA 6, but then an even bigger one next year when they launch multiplayer", and said Twitch has "spent a lot of time talking with Rockstar about their plans, and also helping them think about how they can engage our creators". Bloomberg presents the 2027 timing as what Clancy anticipates, not as something Rockstar asked him to announce, and VGC makes the same reservation: it is unclear whether he was confirming a plan or making an educated guess. Nothing on the Rockstar side supports a date. At Take-Two's annual stockholders meeting on the same day, Strauss Zelnick said GTA 6 launches as a single-player experience on two platforms with no recurrent consumer spending anticipated, and described the existing GTA Online as a robust business the company keeps supporting. So the only person naming a year is a business partner, not the studio.
