Perez trained at NYU Tisch and built a television career in New York: Esperanza Morales in Law & Order: SVU, which won her an Imagen Award in 2020, plus Jessica Jones, Chicago P.D. and Spike Lee's She's Gotta Have It. The credit that matters here is smaller and older. In 2019 she voiced one of the blackjack dealers in the Diamond Casino update for GTA Online, so Rockstar had hired her years before anyone linked her to Lucia.

The account that keeps confirming the role, @mannil.perez with more than 50,000 followers, is an impostor running AI text and AI images, so treat anything posted there as worthless.
